P04 → BARB Tea Company

Logo, identity and branding concept for a British nettle infused tea brand. The product
is targeted at creative people,
a catalyst for creation, giving them a reason to come together
and work on their artistic passions and hobbies.

The design system includes cyanotypes and bold typography, capturing an artistic spirit
and standing out within the
over saturated tea market.

The packaging is made out of alluminium paint tins, allowing
them to be reused or recycled,
an important metric for products targeted at gen z consumers.
The pages below were selected from my assessment portfolio to show an overview of the outcomes I created.

The BARB bulldog logo derives from classic British iconography, tying into the brands heritage.
It’s punchy, recognisable and it even spells out BARB if you look close enough...

The project breif required two versions of brands drink to be made. I chose a classic black
tea for the busy working day,
with a secondary herbal tea
aimed more at undwinding alone
in the evening.
BARB’s packaging reflects the inten-ded use of each type of
tea. A busy table filled with
arts supplies, and then also
the clean quiet table with
a ticked off to-do list.
In the spirit of collaboration,
the ambient media for the brand focuses on attracting creative people and giving them an op-portunity to talk to each other
in designated spots. From art
stores to bus stations, these
spots would be clearly recog-
nisable and easy to execute.
